2012 NDCCPI Annual Spring Conference Summary
A special thank you to the presentors, vendors and displayers, and attendees not only from ND but also from MN, MT, and SD who were part of the annual conference. Conference evaluations which were received back from 83% of attendees verified that the training received was excellent, was appreciated and would be put into practice by many in attendance.
Nationally known speaker Tom Copeland made the topics of Contracts & Policy, Record Keeping and Reducing Risk very interesting and informative. He also answered so many questions on the minds of participants.
Robin Rivinius provided thru PowerPoint and handout many ideas for creative activities, games etc. which used items already found in most child care settings or could be inexpensively made often from "throw away materials". Each participant was able to "make and take" home two children's activities.
Jennifer Barry Early Childhood Administrator within the Children & Family Division of ND Dept. of Human Services provided state updates including information about
Growing Futures which tracks all approved early childhood training individuals take. Signing up for Growing Futures is voluntary, but by doing so you can submit training received in the last 4 years and also access the site to see at a glance all your approved training hours. She also answered questions received from the audience.
A reminder for anyone who attended the confernce that to receive credit for training hours, you must mail a copy of your training certificate by June 10th to:
